Impact Door & Slider Maintenance
Impact and sliding glass doors from Mullet’s Windows & Doors are built to withstand Florida’s harshest coastal conditions, but like all exterior systems, they benefit from simple, routine maintenance. Regular cleaning and inspections help protect your investment, ensure smooth operation and maintain long-term warranty coverage.
Annual Inspection & Cleaning
FFor optimal performance, we recommend inspecting and cleaning your impact doors once a year or after major weather events such as severe storms or hurricanes.
During your inspection, check for:
- Dirt, sand or salt buildup on tracks, hinges and frames
- Proper operation of locks, handles and rolling hardware
- Clear door tracks free of debris or standing water
- Tight seals and intact weatherstripping
- Smooth movement of sliding panels without sticking or grinding
- Any signs of impact damage or air/water intrusion

Clean door frames and glass with mild soap and water—never abrasive cleaners or pressure washers. For sliding doors, vacuum the tracks and ensure rollers are clean to maintain smooth operation.
If anything appears damaged, loose or difficult to operate, the Mullet’s team is here to help.
