Windows Maintenance
Impact windows from Mullet’s Windows & Doors are built to withstand Florida’s demanding climate – but like all exterior products, they benefit from simple, routine maintenance. Regular cleaning and inspections help your windows operate smoothly, maintain their appearance and protect long-term warranty coverage.
Annual Inspection & Cleaning
For optimal performance, we recommend inspecting and cleaning your windows once a year, or after major weather events such as hurricanes or severe storms.
During your inspection, check for:
- Dirt, salt or debris buildup on frames and glass
- Proper function of locks, rollers and tracks
- Clear, unobstructed weep holes for drainage
- Any signs of air or water intrusion
- Damage from wind-driven debris
Clean the glass and frames with mild soap and water, never abrasive cleaners, and ensure all moving parts remain free of sand or corrosion.
If you notice anything unusual, the Mullet’s team is here to help.

Why Regular Maintenance Matters
Taking care of your windows does more than keep them looking great — it ensures lasting performance and helps prevent costly issues over time. Routine maintenance helps:
- Extend the life of your impact window system
- Preserve manufacturer warranties
- Improve energy efficiency and smooth functionality
- Prevent leaks, corrosion and hardware wear
- Maintain strong protection against storms and intruders
